What this question is really asking

Enter your Companies House registration number (UK limited companies), Charity Commission number, or relevant equivalent. If you are a sole trader or unregistered entity, clarify this with your assessor — accuracy is verified against public records.

A written response is required

Primary legal entity only. Max 20 characters. Must correspond to name in A1.1. LTD/LLP/CIC: 8 digits or 6 with 2-letter prefix. GOV/SOL/PRT/SOC/OTH: enter 'none'. No company number: use DUNS number.

What to prepare before your assessor visit

This is one of the first things an assessor will cross-reference against Companies House or the relevant register. An incorrect number — even a transposition error — can delay certification while it is clarified. If your organisation is genuinely unregistered, say so clearly and discuss with your assessor rather than leaving this blank or guessing.
