Have you signed up to the NCSC's free Early Warning service?
What this question is really asking
The NCSC Early Warning service is a free threat intelligence feed that alerts you to indicators of compromise linked to your IP ranges and domains. Danzell introduced this question to raise awareness — if you have not signed up, do so before your assessment. It takes minutes and is free at ncsc.gov.uk.
What satisfies this requirement
Yes or NoNCSC Early Warning Service — free service.
What to prepare before your assessor visit
Early Warning is one of those services that organisations wish they'd registered for before they needed it. Assessors are not currently required to verify whether you've signed up, but many will mention it as a recommendation. Take five minutes to register at the NCSC website before your assessment — it's free, it takes very little time, and the intelligence it provides is genuinely useful.
How this question sits across CE versions
Question A1.16 is unique to Cyber Essentials Danzell — it does not appear in other versions of the standard. New in Danzell. Not signing up is not a fail, but assessors expect awareness of the service.
